The University has been named after Captain Awadhesh Pratap Singh, a distinguished son of the soil and a freedom fighter. The University was established on the 20th July 1968 and got UGC recognition in February 1972. It has a membership of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and All Commonwealth Association of Universities (ACAU).

Awadhesh Pratap Singh University Admission 2019

At the Undergraduate level, the institute provides a cluster of the Undergraduate program in the fields of Arts, Science, Commerce, Business Administration, Computer Application, Physical Education, Law etc.

Apart from B.P. Ed. and B.A. L.L.B. programmes, rest of the program hold a duration of three years. B.P. Ed contains a duration of one year for the Students seeking their career in Physical Education, focusing the needs of Physical activity in Candidates. The duration of B.A. L.L.B. programme is five years.

Students must need to hold a 10+2 level degree to get admission in the concerned program offered by the institute to accomplish the eligibility criteria for Undergraduate programmes.

The admission of Students is done in order of merit. Merit will be decided on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination. If they are equal, the decision will be made on the basis of date of birth of the respective Students. The guiding principles issued by the Higher Education.
